As you probably know, the weather forecast calls for rain over the next few days. Looking at the current radar, it appears we could get some moisture in the next few hours. The worst of the storm is expected to hit Chandler and Gilbert on Wednesday when we have an 80% chance of rain. Thursday and Friday also call for 40% chance of rain. Although we are not expecting a record 5 inches of rain in a few hours like we experienced last week, it appears this will be a wet storm and we have a lot of saturation already. So it is best to be prepared.
In the event that weather calls for school closures, the most immediate way to get the results would be to call a weather hotline that District has established at 812-7001. The message on this outgoing line will be the first action District will take should they need to close one or more schools. District will then follow up with immediate messaging on the main page of CUSD80.com, Twitter.com/chandler unified, our CUSD Facebook page, and Infinite Campus with its somewhat limited emergency notification capabilities.
