|""They (Librarians) are subversive. You think they're just sitting there at the desk, all quiet and everything. They're like plotting the revolution, man. I wouldn't mess with them.""

Welcome to the Library! Children in grades K - 6 will receive library instruction every 6 days. I will use a variety of teaching techniques to involve all students in the learning process. My main objective is to teach your child how to independently navigate throughout any library and how to retrieve and evaluate information. I will work collaboratively with your child's teacher to assure my lessons are relevant to what is being taught in the classroom.
My Education and Professional Background
I began working for the Chandler Unified School District in 1987 as a classroom teacher. I remained a classroom teacher, teaching fourth and later second grade, for nine years. During that time I earned a Master's in Administration and an endorsement in Library Science. I then applied my Library Science credentials to Willis Jr. High, where I worked for eight years before transferring to Santan K-8. I worked at Santan for three years, completing an endorsement in Reading during that time. I returned to my elementary roots when I joined CTA Liberty in 2006. In 2007 I completed an endorsement in English Language Learning in order to be more effective when teaching students whose first language is something other than English.
My Educational Philosophy
In my classroom, children are unique individuals who have the right and ability to learn.
