Gerald Todd, M. Ed.
I was born and educated in Sweetwater, Texas. I graduated from Abilene Christian University with my B.S. I then received a bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Texas; and earned a master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction and Education Administration from the New Mexico State University. At Abilene Christian University, I played football and was a named 2nd team Lone Star Conference Running Back and 2nd team All American Running Back. I was a Harlon Hill Nominee (Division II Heisman) and held the Texas High School Power lifting record (dead lift: 605 lbs). I have taught in 3 different states. I have taught in Odessa, Houston, Abilene, and Carlsbad New Mexico. I also coached college football for 6 years. I came to Basha with 16 years of teaching experience. I have taught every subject from AP Macroeconomics to Elementary P.E. This is my 6th year as a Basha teacher and coach. My past students have gone on and graduated from Harvard, Cornell, Rice, Stanford and even the Almighty University of Texas (Hook 'em Horns!). Currently, 4 of my players have gone on to the NFL as players and 2 in Major League Baseball. I have been fortunate to be the son of educators who believed that "An education can change the trajectory of a person's life.”
In the 2011-2012 school year, Excellence and Dedication are the focus for my classes. I truly believe if you take care of the assignment, then you usually solve the issues.
